CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN!
Here in Edmonton, it all comes down to tonight. it’s the final game of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Edmonton Oilers came back from behind and now has a fighting chance to win the cup. The city has been crazy on the game nights. On a night before we got here there were riots and fires and hundreds of arrests. And that was when they won. Myself and a few others will be heading to the Oiler stadium tonght to watch the game on big screens amongst all the fans. It seems that it is a once in a lifetime opportunity that would be foolish to pass up. It should make up for all the shit I haven’t been doing on this trip. Like spending the last few days not taking a single picture. Or not going gambling. Though both those things can be remedied in the next few days.
The theatre sent us with a bunch of merchandise. To try to sell I guess. It is all pretty ordinary stuff compared to the other things at the tourney. Though one thing we do have that no one else does are what I like to call Cancer Patient Hats. They are these ridiculously over-foamed mesh ball caps. You know, the kind you see every cancer kid wearing in every made for tv movie or drama you can think of. Dads Garage Cancer Hats. Terminally Fun.
Overall, the shows have been pretty kool. Saturday night was the cartoon showcase. It was a pretty decent crowd considering we were up against the saving game of the playoffs. And the second wave of the tournament begins tomorrow. So many teams still aren’t here or are just arriving. Vancouver, Regina, Slovenia. It will be a whole new breath of energy.
Last night we all kicked it at the theatre to watch Trapped In The Closet. If you don’t already know, it’s the R. Kelly “musical” that is basically the most convoluted 40 minute exposition soul-sung to the same beat. It was my lack of judgement to show it to a room full of drunk improvisors because for the next 4 hours everyone was singing what they were doing in the same style. And the drunker they were the louder and yellier the “joy” became. Hopefully they have all forgot about it and i won’t have to hear 15 different versions of it ever again.

Damn. Busy summer. I was wondering why you didn’t call me back. Glad that you’re having a blast. Sorry about that whole World Cup thing. I hope that you didn’t get trampled or anything.
See you soon.

that must not’ve been too pretty when they lost.
In fact, not having heard from you again, I’m going to assume you were carried away by the mobs. Canadian mobs can’t be that bad, though, can they? More funny, than anything.
