i have popped my fringe cherry and am less bloody that i thought i would be. But then, i didn’t do the final D&D: the improvised campaign show either. apparently it ended in a BLOODBATH. Broken bottles, fake blood, screaming, decapitations…Now that is how an improvised fantasy soap opera should end.Heck, I might even not miss the Outdoor shows less that I thought i would.
Met some kool people at the fringe and learned a lot. One thing I learned – there’s a lot of talking about your show. How awesome it is and how awesome the show you just did was. So I will have to brush up on that skill before hitting Edmonton.
One thing I will miss – I’m gonna miss the fine folks at the King’s Head Pub. by the 2nd night of the fringe they all new my name and one even began screaming “REN MAN!!” when he saw me. Though I think Lee and I will spend one last night there before I leave.

Today i woke up after another late night and did a radio show with Lee and Steve it was so much fun and I still haven’t recovered from how cool of them it was to let this atlanta boy tag along for the hour they do the show.

Wolf Parade is playing in Edmonton while I am there.

well, there are only 2 days left in the fringe : Winnipeg edition. I am finally going to see a show today. Jesus:The Lost Years. Then I do the second to last Outdoor show. Tonight at 11:45 is the second to last Big Stupid. It is a day of second to lasts I guess.
I’m kicking it wine Hangover style. So I will have to shake that before the night rolls in.

I am looking forward to a week in Winnipeg to relax and take in some other forms of entertainment. After that, I hit Vancouver for 5 days. I leave on the 4th. I can’t wait. i’ve heard a lot of great things about it. Sorta reminds me of San Fran the way it’s described. A combination of city and nature.

Took a day off from the fringe last night. Spent a majority of the day lazing around. Kicked it at “Bar I” (Bar Italia if you aren’t in the know) again. Watched a fine motion picture last night. It’s called The Matador and it has justaches in it. Need I say more.

Today marke the third to last outdoor show. They are getting better. Heck I might even miss them when they are gone. Gonna show off the cartoon in tomorrow’s Big Stupid show. Hopefully not getting cut in the first round.

Also gonna try to catch a show or two before all is said and done.

I was just outside scamming some wireless from a restaurant. On the bench next to me was this homeless dude reading everything I was writing. Then a homeless woman stood right in front of me crying, “I’m hungry. I wanna get some supper! Please help me!” I could take it at first. But after about 10 seconds of it, I was depressed. So I went to the coffee shop across the street for some grub and wireless. Just when I got to the window-front seat two homeless dudes started full on bum fighting in the street. Got a crappy snapshot of it.
Finally, I’m taking pictures.

Can anyone make sense of this? Someone on the T.V. said it last night.

Well, today was my day off from the Outdoor Venue. Myself, Lee, Steve, and some others had The Big Stupid Show at the same time. It was nice to be away from it but I fear that now that I am used to it, the day off will set me back in comfort tomorrow night when I return to it.
Almost every time I walk by the outdoor stage it seems some crappy cover band is playing. Have to investigate the cover band/Fringe connection. Why just the other night, the cover band du jour whipped out a classic. You youngens might be to wet behind the ears to remember them, but back in the day there was this band called Franz Ferdinand and they had a hit single Take Me Out all the hip kids were dancing to. So colour me surprised when the band on stage pulled this out from their bag of tricks.

Saw a 3 gal sketch show Saturday night. Alright ladies, you have periods and these periods cause cramps and make you crazy and the blood is the result of your uterine wall shedding. I get it already. But seriously, it’s great to see funny girls. There should be more of them. But girls just aren’t funny. So all you girls just keep trying. In the meantime, there are probably some really funny guys that need blowjobs right about now. That oughta stop your period complaining for a while.

There’s been a distraction of some sort at every one of the outdoor shows. Tonight would be no different. Just when I thought I was in the clear, I looked down and to my surprise, a woman pulled out some boobage and began breast feeding. Yes, it’s natural, but it’s the last thing I want to see before doing some improv.

Today’s Big Stupid was brought to you by the number noon o’clock. We were joined by a couple other improvisors for the show. But we were all a little off our game that early in the day. Tomorrow is the only other early show – 2:15 pm
That will sit a lot better.

Hosted Scratch again tonight. It was a blast. And a great excuse to wear the suit I brought along for no good reason.

As if outdoor shows weren’t hard enough.
Last night a car caught on fire during our set.
I can’t be sure whether it was the show that made it spontaneously combust or the “tranny” the owner cried about when he got to his flaming vehicle.

Last night the fringe began
We perfromed at the outdoor venue at 6pm. A trap we all are bound to for the next 10 days. We all being myself, Steve, Lee, Kevin, and Arlen. If these names don’t mean anything to you, let’s just say the suckers that agreed to a 6pm outdoor show every night of the fringe.
Last night was also the opening of Kevin and Arlen’s show Scratch as well as the Big Stupid. We had a great time doing the Big Stupid. I managed to survive 2 rounds with my tale of a teacher at a finishing school for delinquit genius and his one and only pupil. We got as far as the Beat It style fight scene on the mean streets of this town of intelligencia. Really moving stuff.
Tonight and tomorrow night I will be hosting Scratch.
I started the day off with a razor and shaved the handlebars off my face. i’m kicking it at Bar Italia (Bar I to the locals). The place is a bar/coffeehouse/eatery that has n interesting history. It was originally a bar/laundromatwith a backroom where gruff old schoool Italians got together for card games. As the lure of a bar in a laundromat grew among the hipster crowd slowly the place began to take new shape. The laundromat was removed for bigger hangout space and eventually the hipsters even phased out the card playing Italians. Who rumor has it moved further down the street.
Last night’s highlight : a scene where a man’s ass was shot off and doctors replaced it with garbage bags filled with cottage cheese.
