The trip to Toronto and Winnipeg was a success. I went, I saw, I kicked it’s ass.

WestJet is fun, They mostly only fly in Canada. The flight attendants all have an awesome sense of humor. Sometimes they even make fun of each other or hint that they are sleeping with the pilots.

There was an art exhibit in the lobby of the theatre. This velvet painting was hanging up.

The Comedy Festival was right around the corner. It apparently features what every good comedy festivall should : a comedy monkey.

There was lots of snow


One of the shows had a full-on bluegrass band playing for the scenes.

On the opening night of the Winnipeg IF improv festival i was on stage doing a scene and I gave myself a carpet burn

What I shouldn’t have thought would taste good was combining it with leftover thai food at 2 in the morning.

Travelling makes me tired.
The actual flight from Atlanta to Toronto is only about 90 minutes. But you have to get to the airport 2 hours early. Then you have to forget to check the status of the flight before you leave home and find out the flight is delayed almost 2 hours. Then you have to go through customs – a process that in Toronto has never taken me more than 15 minutes but on this journey was about 45. Then you have to wait for the bus. Then you take the bus to the train. Then you take the train into town. You add all that up and it’s been an 8 hour day.
But on the bright side, the stewardess (can you still say that?) on the flight was kind enough to let me drink for free. CA-CHING! More whiskey please, Air Canada.
Speaking of first timers, in addition to the first delay, the first free booze, the first long line in customs…last night was also the first time I witnessed a genuine knock down drag out yelling match between a man and the agent at the gate. It was straight out of that SouthWest documentary series on A&E. Out of nowhere too- this guy starts hootin’ and hollerin’ at her. And all in front of his 12 year old daughter(age approximation based solely on the embarassed, sad look on her face).
But I am in Toronto now, and it’s not nearly as shivver me timbers as I was expecting. I forget about the delightful dry cold of the north and how much nicer it is than the wet humidity cold of the south.
Shit. There I go sounding like an old man again.

I leave tomorrow for Canada. It’s 12 degrees both in Toronto and Winnipeg right now. I have a feeling I am going to be wearing a lot of layers over the next week.

Back in 2002 HBO went inside the Moonlite Bunny Ranch brothel outside of Reno Nevada. What resulted was a documentary called Cathouse. Now, years later, as America’s insatiable appetite for needing to know what goes on behind closed doors, HBO returns with Cathouse : The Series.

What’s absolutely mind-boggling about this season is that they are actually filming the “parties” – which is just a fancy word for paying a girl to fuck you. Not only are the “parties” being filmed, but the guys in them are agreeing to let HBO show them.
Highlight from the episode I caught this weekend : One of the new girls put her foot down when it comes to giving blowjobs. She doesn’t do it. Would someone please let her know she works in a brothel for fuck’s sake.
